![]() Depending on the size of your ears, the base of the earbud can sit on the groove our your inner ear, making the fit even more secure. The best way to describe the fit of the BackBeat Pro 5100 is that it literally sits in your ears with the ear tips creating a very good seal. And as mentioned previously, the ear tips are proprietary so you can’t switch them out for comply foam tips if you want to. ![]() It actually takes some effort to remove them from my ears as the seal created from these ear tips with my canal can get quite ‘tight’. The wide oval-shaped ear tips help to complete the fit of the earbuds in your ears. ![]() The stem of the earbuds is short but is angled at degree that is just right for entry into your ear canals. The BackBeat Pro 5100 fits really well, and I believe it is due to its lightweight tiny form factor and stem design. Sadly, Plantronics decided on going for micro USB for charging which is a bummer for a product of its price. If you are in desperate need of battery, the BackBeat Pro 5100 has a neat quick charge feature that gives you 1 hour of playtime from just 10 mins of charging. As it only has a single LED light, you tell the amount of battery left by the number of blinks – continuous red flashes means it is low while three white flashes means it’s high. But you can actually see the light from the top of the case, without opening it. There is a single LED indicator inside the case, which tells you the amount of battery life remaining in the case. 6.5 hours is a pretty good duration, and 13 hours in the case is not exactly the best but it is a fair trade-off from the compact form factor of the charging case. You will get up to 6.5 hours of playtime per full charge and another 13 hours form the charging case. ![]() The BackBeat Pro 5100 also has auto-pause/play – which pauses the music when you remove one earbud from your ear, and resumes playback when you out the earbud back. The BackBeat Pro 5100 is rated at IPX4 water resistance so you should feel fairly confident wearing these earbuds for your exercise and workouts. The overall build of the earbuds feels tight and durable. They have plastic buttons which are touch sensitive. It is made from plastic, but has a small layer of rubber coming from the stem of the earbuds which is actually Plantronics’ proprietary ear tip. You simply push on the button to open the case – great for opening it with one hand.Īs for the earbuds, you have the sense of Plantronics tough build quality. Unlike most cases where they use a hinge or slide, the BackBeat Pro 5100 uses an unlock button. The case is made of plastic and has a matte finish to it. The case is the smallest case I have seen in all of the truly wireless earbuds I have reviewed, so you can really chuck it in your pocket without feeling an uncomfortable bulge. When I first unboxed the product, I was amazed at how small and lightweight the case was. Weight: 5.8g (each earbud), 38.6g (charging case). ![]()

![]() ![]() The second downside is that you have to work for the system. The large initial investment puts is a major put-off for many. Off-grid living is affordable in the long term, but it usually does require a sizable investment at the onset. That in itself makes it cool.ĭespite the major pros, off-grid life also has some downside. You can have less carbon footprint, which benefits the global community in the long run. Going off-grid is a kind of eco-friendly living. If you have your own system to support your heating, water, and energy needs, you can keep functioning normally day-to-day, with no worries about power outages on the grid. If the power goes off you’re left in the dark, and often in the cold. If you’re on the grid, much of your daily life is dependent on it. Second is that you are independent of the grid. I just have to put in some work and that’s about it. Since my house is in the woods, I could get plenty of firewood for free. I have my heating system based on firewood. Most significant of all is having little to no utility bill. There’s a lot of great benefits you get from moving out of the grid. Once you know what you will keep, you can calculate the consumption, and then a specialist can design a system for you. Perhaps you say to yourself “ I need four rooms to be lit up with LEDs. Like the electric water kettle, in my case. What are the things in your life you are quite happy to part with? Think about what you really need and what you could live without. So, start your plan with your consumption. In my current position, I can’t have it.Īctually, I could… but that would mean investing more into the batteries, and that’s just to have a cup of coffee quickly with the electric water kettle. For example, I don’t have an electric water kettle. ![]() Moving away from an unlimited power supply requires some compromise. ![]() Having said that, there definitely are some constraints. If you want to keep your big dryer and washer, well then, you need more panels and more batteries. If you want to live with the bare minimum, getting sufficient supply is easy. When designing off-grid systems for the house you have to start from your level of consumption. The best suggestion I can give is to make a plan. Overall, I’m very happy with those decisions. I also added a few panels to my solar power system. When my family grew, I built a bigger one. When I went off-grid, I first lived in a tiny house. What many people fail to consider is that there are options that fall in the middle-ground, where living is affordable, functional, and actually a lot of fun. The idea seems quite impractical and uncomfortable. Living in a tiny house with a family is not something many people want to do. The equipment is cheap, but you don’t get the living quality you expect, especially if you have a family. On the other hand, it’s really easy to go off-grid with a tiny house. People consider how expensive this is to pull off, so they give up on the idea. You will probably even need a special room for the batteries and so on. Taking a so-called regular big house off-grid (with the electrical boilers and everything), will cost a fortune. On the opposite end is going off-grid with a tiny house on wheels.īoth of these extremes have their big shortcoming. On one extreme, there are folks who want to go off-grid in their really big 300-square meters bricks-and-mortar house. Mostly, these myths are caused by two extreme scenarios people visualize about this lifestyle. There are different misconceptions about off-grid living. ![]() ![]() ![]() This report covers a research time span from 2018 to 2030, and presents a deep and comprehensive analysis of the global Wood Furniture market, with a systematical description of the status quo and trends of the whole market, a close look into the competitive landscape of the major players, and a detailed elaboration on segment markets by type, by application and by region. Unlike Twitter for example, which integrates a reporting form into every post (as shown here), Tumblr expects its users to know that they have to access a separate page on its website, copy and paste the URL of the post that they wish to report, and… well to be honest, most users won’t even get that far. This is one area in which Tumblr falls down. Therefore, we have recommended making it easier for them to report offending content, rather than merely blocking it. In fact we have recently expressed concerns about the effectiveness of new experimental systems from Facebook and Google that do claim to be able to make this determination algorithmically.Īlthough technology continues to advance, the current best technical state of the art in weeding out unlawful images of minors that haven’t been observed before remains the human eye, and the best way of making sure that such images are removed quickly is by enlisting the help of the site’s users. Although it’s a fact not often spoken, this is the most common category of unlawful images of minors, both on and off Tumblr.Īs Tumblr well knows, the shared industry database that it blamed for its problems wasn’t ever intended to catch such images that are being newly uploaded by users, and that haven’t already been reviewed by a human being and determined to be unlawful. We called Tumblr out for that statement because much of its problem with unlawful images came about from its youngest users posting naked images of themselves. ![]() In its reaction to the App Store ban, Tumblr blamed a shared industry shared child pornography database for its failure to eliminate images from its website. For many, it was something of a microcosm of the Internet itself. But it was also a place for creativity, friendship, and learning for its users. For years, its own users had called Tumblr a “hellsite” due to its problems such as bullying, extremism, sexual grooming of minors, and the exchange of child pornography-or, to use a better term, unlawful images of minors. Tumblr’s removal from the App Store did not come without warning. Tumblr knew about its child sexual abuse problem A ban on all nudity and sexual content was its easiest path forward to having the app restored-though certainly not the best path forward, given the ban’s impacts on those using the site to post lawful adult content. After all, Tumblr’s removal from the Apple App Store due to its failure to control child pornography on its platform had been reported a mere two weeks earlier. In a blog post yesterday in which Tumblr announced that it would ban adult content from the site come December 17, it took pains to point out “something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community.”īut Tumblr’s attempt to distance its new adult content ban from its fight against child pornography only goes to underscore how closely the two are actually linked. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So I've been messing around a bit more, seeing what happens if I crank up all my stats to ridiculous levels. That said, I tried reducing all my stats to their flat values, as if they were gained through training instead of canisters, and it didn't alter any conversations that I could tell, so I'm pretty sure it's only to measure purchase cost and that the canister usage is under some other flag. I don't know why this is also applied to abilities like create fyora as well since you can't increase it except through canisters, though it's possible that the core code of this game is going to be reused in future Geneforge remakes as well, so this may be just to prepare for features added later. So a value of 105 would give you the same stat as 6, but with the cost of 5. I'm also not sure if canister usage is measured by the number of points you have in abilities or a by separate value, so increasing this may cause some conversations to change as well.ĮDIT: After a bit of fiddling, I found that the value of ANY skill is increased by 100 for each canister used, except canister use doesn't increase the cost of said skill. Light passing through a grating is dispersed – which means it is separated into different colors that go in different directions (Figure 12.3). The gratings consist of many parallel slits (or sometimes grooves), typically spaced between 0.0002 and 0.03 mm apart. Physicists routinely measured the wavelengths of colored light using finely spaced diffraction gratings. The diffraction of light was well understood at the time. 12.3 Diffraction gratings containing fine slits disperse light into different colors X-rays became inextricably involved with mineralogy when Max von Laue successfully used crystals as a tool in this search. Various physicists searched for an understanding of the nature of X-radiation. Because the radiation seemed to behave differently from light, he thought it a completely different phenomenon, calling it X-radiation. Röntgen deduced that electrons interacting with the walls of the tube produced a high-energy form of radiation, and he showed that the radiation could penetrate paper and even thin metals. By chance, he observed that a nearby piece of barium platinocyanide fluoresced when he turned on the tube. He was studying the relationship between matter and force as charged particles flowed from a heated filament in an evacuated glass tube. Röntgen taught and studied physics at the University of Würzburg in Germany. All this knowledge would have been unobtainable if Röntgen and his coworkers had not recognized the importance of some curious phenomena they observed while studying cathode ray tubes (early versions of television tubes) in 1895. We draw pictures, make enlarged models, and study the details of crystal structures of thousands of minerals. Today we accept without question the idea that atoms bond together in regular arrangements to make crystals. In less than two decades, scientists developed a firm theoretical basis for understanding how atoms are arranged in minerals. Mineralogists quickly discarded many hypotheses disproved by X-ray studies just as quickly, they developed and tested new ones. Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen’s discovery of X-rays in 1895 allowed mineralogists to proceed with their studies and eventually led to a greater understanding of crystal structures. Without a way to test hypotheses, development of an understanding of atomic arrangement and of bonding in crystals was stalled. Some ideas about crystal structure were generally accepted, while others were poorly understood and hotly debated. ![]() They hypothesized about atomic arrangements and the nature of crystal structures, but they lacked direct evidence. By the late nineteenth century, mineralogists knew that crystals had ordered and repetitive crystal structures. Scientists studied minerals for hundreds of years before the discovery of X-rays. The in vitro digestibility values for dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein, as well as the estimated in vivo digestibility of organic matter and crude protein by the means of the predictive equation, were aligned with the in vivo results, although in vitro estimations were consistently higher compared with those obtained by in vivo analysis. ![]() There was no difference between total collection and internal marker methods in the assessment of in vivo digestibility for any of the nutrients considered. The aim of the study was to evaluate nutrient digestibility of a diet containing black soldier fly larvae as its main protein source.
